Moon Trinket Dish
I've been collecting crystals for over 2 years now. I definitely see myself buying more as I truly love their energy and beauty. I wanted to make a celestial trinket dish to display them using air-dry modeling clay. I saw similar moon dishes on Etsy and thought I would give it a try. Honestly, I'm so glad I did, as it turned out really cute. This crescent moon dish would also look great as a ring holder, and if I'm honest, I think it looks cuter displayed with jewelry. All you need for this project is...
- Air dry modeling clay
- Rolling pin
- Exacto Knife
- Acrylic Paint
- Paintbrushes
DIRECTIONS:
1.) Form a ball and roll it out using the rolling pin.
2.) Use anything round to cut a perfect circle (I used a cookie cutter.) Then cut the circle into a crescent moon.
3.) Form a smaller ball and roll it into a snake, long enough that it goes all the way around the moon.
4.) To attach the snake, use a small brush to water the edges of the moon.
5.) Place the snake around the moon, and blend them together using your fingers or a brush.
6.) Allow the trinket dish to dry for 24-48 hours.
7.) Paint the edges of the crescent moon using gold acrylic paint.
8.) Seal the paint with mod podge, and you're all finished.
